Week One Block Finished

My "not-quite as mauve as most " block measures 12-1/2 inches.

This was fun . . .

Looking forward to Week 2's color challenge!

Mauve . . . really?

This is as far as I got last night . . .
(and as close to mauve as my stash permitted)

What Inspires Me?

What inspires me?

MOTHER NATURE!

This is the early morning view from my studio.
(before heading off to my day job)

Photo from a lunch-hour escape . . .

Two of my favorite quilty go-to colors . . .

Lots of other things trigger quilty-ideas,
but Mother Nature and her amazing colors
are definitely #1 on my list.

Need I say more ?

Happy to be here!

And so it begins . . .

I've been entrusted with the Mistress of Leehaven's
2008 collaborative star block project
by the Mistress herself.

I've decided to take each of the eighteen
3" siggie blocks and create
eighteen liberated 9-1/2" blocks
(the same size as the contributed star blocks).

It's been waaaaaay too long since I've
played with little bits of color
and I'm excited to return to one of
the reasons I started quilting in the first place.

Now there are framed siggie blocks
awaiting their borders
and
only a very few bits leftover
from the previously overflowing bin
of under 2" pieces.

I can't wait to play again soon!
