Poor Lily

Poor child........grandma didn't do such a good job.......should of stayed away from the fabric crayons!
Well it was a fun first try......I'll see if I can do any better :0)!

I love the fabric crayons! Now I have to try that! I thought you had pieced her shirt. Very clever, grandma! Lily is even cute in fabric!

I think it is a wonderful interpretation.
Are we supposed to look like the picture? LOL
My hand has a mind of it's own, so whatever I do is not under my control;)
I like the idea of fabric crayons for shadows and highlights, great idea.

I like it! I thought the shirt was pieced, too.

Well the shirt is a recycled sweater ( the pink part) with a piece of red boxy printed red fabric on top.
I used the crayon on her face and lips and went a little overboard..I think it looks too blotchy....but for my first try I think its okay.......the eyes are kind of cool....and yes it is a learning experience.
If you click on the picture then again when the magnifier comes up you can see her face is two different fabrics.....the right side is a tiny check....her hair is a tiny plaid, from a recycled shirt, that is supposed to be like her tiny ginger curls.

that's what it's all about.. giving new things a whirl!
I bet you could continue to build on it. maybe trying something with the shadows.. I see that great smooshy pouty chin on the original photo in highlights... lovely golden locks!!
I find doing anything artistically using my child's photo is never to my satisfaction...it's never as perfect as they are!

I like it and don't worry, you can use 'concealer' for the naughty fabric crayons. I didn't even notice really until you said something.
