Apparently I am much more creatively stunted than I originally thought. I was having a good time sewing pieces and strips together and then panic set in when it was time for the block to be assembled

My "uh-oh" moment.

My block finished. But I'm not too happy with it. It doesn't have the abandon I wanted. I may need to put it aside for a day and go back and look at it again.

I love the previous post by Victoria. Possibly sewing outside of the box may take more practice than I thought, maybe 15 minutes a day will do the trick!

It's fine! Try making one more CUT through the whole thing, it will add yet another LAYER with strips... use a different contrasting color, and you've got it. There is no right or wrong way to make these... Love those brihgts!

You are not 'stunted'! Those colours and fabrics are brilliant! I agree with Victoria, one more strip (diagonally from threequarters up left to threequarters down right side?)and it will look fantastic - it has loads of energy!

I like the colors and contrast with the textures you have in here. Keep playing!

You are fine! If I can do this you can too. Hey Look! You HAVE done it! LOL.

And you know what, it will look perfect in the middle of all the others!

Its coming along......why not cut it apart and add another color or shape if you really aren't happy with it........
Its fun though isn't it?

Happy Sewing

I like it, too, ... just the way it is. The black is bold and deliberate. But wouldn't it be interesting to see what would happen if you tried V's suggestion?
