While I was digging through my scrap bins, I found a bunch of little 4 patches and strips, so I popped them together for this quilt. The corner blocks were orphans from a previous project. I used some of the bindings in the picture above. This quilt is quilted, bound, washed and dried, and now it's headed to New York for V's Home Basics group. Well, first I think I need to snip some threads off the back.
So look what I got in the mail yesterday! Lots of goodies from Brenda. She did a better job of getting my scraps into the mail than I did with hers. I love love love my goodies! Check out the beautiful applique block. My goodness I love that block! There is also a great 9patch block there and lots of big scraps. Can you see the fabric with the Canadian flag? Brenda lives in Winnipeg.
See the pretty yellow with the clothes on a clothesline? So cute. And the Kaffe Fassett which is one I don't have, yay! There's a cool fabric that reminds me of the spirograph toy I had as a kid. Loved that thing, wish I still had it. On the right are some great fabrics with lots of words and phrases. And check out the pink and brown strips. I have a new co-worker who has a 4 month old. She heard I make quilts and made sure to let me know that the nursery is pink and brown. Looks like I have something to get started with. There are checks and stripes and lots of squares and some fun novelty fabrics.
Look at this groovy piece of wild fabric. I can't tell you how cool I think it is. It talks to me, lol. And look at the cutie Dick and Jane fabric.
And wow! Brenda included two selvage needle books. I had told her that Bonnie K. Hunter is coming to my guild in November so she included a needle book for Bonnie. I can't wait to give it to her. They are so cute and even have little pockets inside the covers.
Can you read this one? It says 'moo' all over it, hee hee. And see the blue? I actually have some of that, I may have even sent some to Brenda. I think it's so cool when I see someone else's quilt and recognize fabrics that I have, especially older fabrics. Small world, huh?
I hope Brenda likes what I sent her because I am tickled with my goodies.

looks good! I've been loving the scraps that I got! Trying to track a few down now because I liked them so much! hmm, that funky green might have been a scrap from me, way back when Brenda and I did a swap.. I still have some t=of that here.. ;-) Although, I know she pretty much used up every bit I sent her! She 's so great!
OH! a quilt for BASICS!!!! yippee! Nov 10th, the families get their quilts!!! And that means you also get in on the sewing machine give away!)
Victoria is right - some of it is from her. I thought great scraps were even better when shared. I'm glad Lisa likes what I sent.
Fun scrap goodies! Can you still buy the spirograph toy? I spent countless hours drawing with one when I was a kid.
