Big Leaf

At the last minute I signed up for a workshop with Pat Pauly
through Empire Guild. I wasn't sure what to bring in the way
of fabric, so I just grabbed a bunch of stuff without too much
fretting over it. Clearly, I didn't bring enough! (Do we ever have enough?)

It was a good lesson for me to just make due with what was on hand,
which I did for most of this piece. Some I added when I got home and a few pieces of fabric came from fellow participants who were kind enough to share and swap.

It was an interesting process - freezer paper templates.
Something I had never done before on this scale.

Here is the final result. Now I have to work on borders.

This is wonderful. Just goes to show you what you can do when you are limited in selection.

Victoria,
That's a beautiful leaf. reminds me of a banana leaf from my home country or any other tropical place!
freezer paper templates are fun. I made my wagon wheel quilt with that and loved it!
I love your color choices for both the leaf and the background!

The "make do" with what you've got made for a beautiful leaf. Can't wait to see what you do for your borders.
