How many ideas can you come up with just for triangles?
Our granddaughter selected 4 shirts for me to make a quilt for her for Christmas...
Yep, I'm cruising to get this done...
The plus side to a short amount of time, is, no time to sit and ponder....
Make, cut, sew, cut again,
PLAY.
first attempt, a squares... easy, but not quite what I want....
I needed to make a choice of which direction I was going with this very quickly...
Ease was most important...
Although it has to look good too!
Second attempt, zig zag... nope. these are some THIN shirts... to stretchy to manage...
3rd attempt? Pinwheels?
I just did a pinwheel quilt this summer,
it just wasn't exciting me...
Although, it has it's possibilities... Takes up big space... makes BIG blocks
which equal a fast growing Quilt....
Hmmm.....
The Winner. This will make a 24" block... I should easily have enough fabric from f shirts to make these scrappies, and then to find something for filler... She said her favorite colors were Green and purple... so I may do each block in a different color...
Work quickly.
Think Quickly.
Use up all you have.
Figure it out as you go...
Happy fifteen-ing!

She'll love it. Pretty fabrics, lots of motion. How about a skinny black and white striped binding?
Who knew that old shirts could be so much fun??? I can really see some acid green with those fun plaids and stripes.
Love those triangles!! They must be in the air these days . . . .
Fantastic use of those stripes!!
Your grandaughter has a great eye for fabric! They are fabulous...shirts in the UK are just too conservative!!
Awesome! She has fabulous style... and your spin with those fabrics is so fun!
Love the dutchmans puzzle blocks! They look fantastic!
"The Winner" block is a winner, for sure! Any suggestions on how to "think quickly & work quickly"??? I think I'm a percolator!!!
It is a winner! I'm with Margaret...I'm a percolator too and would like some suggestions on getting that think quickly & work quickly method going.
