Intuitive Moments from the Far West

Okay, here's the deal...I hate lights. I know, I know "light, bright, dark, dull"...I just like bright saturated colors. But I noticed, if you aren't careful, lights sort of stack up. So. MY personal challenge is to use scraps and as much white as I can...sorry for the bad photos...intuition reigns...I DO like the echoes from past projects...nice. NOT 15 minutes though...

Bonnie I have the same problem with lights... and I made some very similar blocks a few weeks ago- how funny! I love that you shot some reds in there too!

One of my favorite antique quilts is white with tiny red squares. Yours is much more interesting, but it still has that fresh clean graphic look. So fabulous!

I feel the same way about lights. I need to get them stacking up at my house. Your play is inspiring. The lights make the red so much better. Negative space--I always forget that.

Bonnie,
I love the lights here. I have not made many light quilts either but, I love how it gives your eyes a landing place in a quilt.
All the prints that are so defined here would have been lost in bursts of colors. I like this one because the colors are not competing against each other. Light fabrics allow the prints to do their dance.. of course with the red being at he center of it all!

A fresh look at red and white quilts. I love the oldies, but this one much more dynamic. Fabulous job.

the little diagrams and the red are from a thing I bought at Value Village...a printed stuffed-toy-Santa-Claus-chimney with these great little diagrams and directions...

I have a ton of white/light scraps too. I will be following in your footsteps one of these days.
