My Intuition Quilt

often as I quilt I am in prayer…

so for my intuition quilt, I decided to reflect on
baptism.

I know there are many of us from different belief traditions in this group…
so let me explain…
for United Methodist Christians
baptism is all about water.

it is about being water washed and Spirit anointed.
it is about being marked as a child of God
and one of the two Holy Sacraments we can experience.

it is special.
it happens only once.

so I made a baptism quilt.
not quite finished.
i want to add some words.
and need to quilt "me"...
but I am happy with how it is coming out.
(it is hard to see the water quilting lines on the bottom...
but I will try to show that better in the final post.)
and thankful for the spiritual experience it is for me.

Something new! Can you tell me about the white part? The quilting looks great! It feels very spiritual!

I really like the way you pieced all the blues together and the person. I agree with Victoria. It does have a spiritual feeling.

The white is to represent God. I didn't want to personify God, rather just have the light...the warm feeling... the brightness...

when you see it up close, there is some blue that shines through, some white that is brighter, some less... I am liking the way it looks but need a better way to take a photo

Katie, did you attach the white on top of the blue background? It is a very unique effect! Great job!

I did. I just layered it on top and sewed a 1/4 around the inside of it to leave ruffed corners....
