+ one for Sujata

Instead of heading to the gym this morning b/c of all the snow here in NY
I headed to my sewing machine & tried to achieve the look of Sujata's block.
This time I cut everything by hand
but I still feel it's not quite there & maybe it's my fabric.
Has anyone ever bought scraps on line?

Margaret! You are there! I love this block and the other one! This is going to be one of my favorite quilt. And, you are cutting by and hand.. I love it!
The idea is to use what you have and for me to have your scraps in some way.. This is great!

Loved your other blocks - love this one as well. It does have a different feeling. Regarding scraps, it is really fun to get others scraps because you often receive fabrics you would never have in your stash. It is a great way to stretch! Gotta do more scrap swaps.

Your scraps are great! You are just tired of them. You need to do some trading! Love your block.

excellent block. you have some really interesting shapes in there, visually my eye keeps moving around and around, finding hidden surprizes all over the place. I get my scraps from a lot of places, mostly swaps with friends, but i have bought scraps (i think it was the 3 lb scrap bag?) from equilter.com. I was really disappointed with what they sent-- i'd say 1/3 of the bag wasn't even quilting cotton, another 1/3 was just plain ugly, and the last 1/3 i've struggled to use when i could. maybe the smaller online fabric shops will have better scrap bags, but i haven't tried any yet.
i totally understand being tired of the choices in front of you-- that's why i said i didn't like the fabrics in the scrap bag i brought to the guild mtg! put them aside and work with some other fabrics for a while and we'll have another scrap swap on 2/5, won't we?
