What do you do with a bunch of dark and light squares?

I had a stack of light and dark (blacks and whites) squares...I wanted to use them in something so I sewed them together to make squares that were half light and half dark....I did not have a pattern in mind but I started placing them on my design wall and came up with this!

I came up with some light wonky stars and if you look closely you can see four dark wonky stars.....I used the scraps I had saved when I cut out the squares to make the border!
What do you think of it!

I usually always have a pattern so it was fun to come up with something that looked pretty interesting.

I love the play on the shading...I usually stay away from this color scheme...but after seeing your creation...hmmmm i may have to give it a try...and trim it with some chartreuse or shocking pink....smiles. i like it a lot...

Nice work! It's so fun to see what happens when you grab some fabric and start playing!

I love black and whites! We had a challenge one year to do a black and white quilt with only one other color. And it was assigned, you didn't get to choose! It was fun and I did stretch with I got PINK! Augh.

glen: love your tessalations

Thanks everyone. I have it on my quilting frame. It ia about
60in. square so it will be a lap quilt. I love playing with fabric like
this. It's fun to think outside the box.
