Blocks for LeeAnn

I struggled again with my blocks, but I am learning....or, rather, UNlearning!  It's hard to loosen up when you have been doing things "by the book" for so long.  I quickly learned that you have to start out with fat pieces in order to only end up with 5 pieces in a block.  Most of my strings are skinny!  But, I did it, and I am happy with the results.  Hope LeeAnn is, too!!  They'll go into the mail as soon as I can get through this snow to the Post Office.

Yes, they look great! It always horrifies me how BIG pieces have to be...or you press them back and find they don't fit...how many times have I done that?!

It's good lesson isn't it? I have started cutting wider strings when I square up my fabric. Just in case. Your blocks look great!

Thanks guys! They actually look crooked in this photo but it must be the way I held the camera, LOL.

I love them. I, too, tend to work smaller. So these were a good stretch.

Mine should be reaching you any moment now!
