Just Playing With Diagonals

Currently there is a block challenge and it is taking an 8" block to a 12" block.  Just for fun, I decided to take a 12" block and make smaller blocks from it.  I got two 8" blocks from each 12" block. Here's the starting 12" block:
Just making 4 slices on the diagonal, here are the resulting 8" blocks from that original:
I found I got better strong diagonals when there was a solid strip of fabric on the outside edges of the original block.   I did it again - here is the 2nd 12" block:
And the resulting 8" blocks:
These were great (easy) fun!

This makes for some interesting blocks. It would be fun to see a bunch of them in a quilt.

I love these blocks. The two on the bottom remind me of India. They are great.
