Took a deep breath and began slicing.
Cut the original into 4 sections.
Then I cut one of the sections into 6 inch diagonal strips.
Then into 6 x 6 diagonal squares.
Another section I cut into 6 inch squares on the straight.
They each had some black.
I thought it was interesting.
I noticed the black was dominant so I began to place it strategically.
See the sometimes diagonal blocks and the sometimes straight blocks.
And look what I found! Half square triangles.
What fun!
See them rearranged a bit more carefully?
Hey, I am beginning to like this quilt.
Who woulda thought?
I still have two more sections to slice and dice. And company coming tomorrow so I have to cook and CLEAN the house (at least the bathroom). And on Sunday we are going to Houmas House Plantation for a Sunday Brunch with our RICH friends......maybe they will pay for dinner?????
glen: probably not...maybe I can look really poor.....

LOOKING VERY INTERESTING. LOVE THE DIAGONAL STRIPED SQUARES. THIS IS GOING TO BE A REALLY NICE QUILT!
Wowie zow!! Love that sawtooth with them.
Oooh, now that is starting to look really fun! Way to liberate that old piece!
Now I wish I had kept my old boring pieces but I'm a compulsive thrower-outer. Looking forward to seeing how it finishes up.
COOL! Looking So much better than the old quilt! hehe! play does ya good! ;-)
hope your guests pay... happy day! ;-)
Fascinating how the blacks take the lead now instead of being a background. Love the new look!
Wow! What a "makeover"!
