The runaway house block

It all starts with the idea of 15 mins play...then you check your watch and an hour has passed! This piece I thought had the makings of a roof...so
I chopped about, and envisaged a chimney and some walls, surrounded by white

So I sliced and sewed

Spot the mistake , my houses in the distance are floating in mid air!! I'll camouflage that later with some stratigically placed applique flowers!

So I started to see if previous blocks would go with it....

And then I got really excited and stopped taking photos as I couldn't spare the time!! I tried a liberated star for the first time ...please note the border style triangles - middle bottom row made from the reject pieces when i muddled up where the colour and the white went, (i scratched my head for a while wondering why my star had only 4 points... can anyone relate to that!!??)

Then I added a border and an applique sun in the sky...Spot the second mistake and realise why I'll call this quilt my Gaz-Giz Quilt!!!

Gaz-Giz lots more fun than Zig-Zag! Have always loved jigsaw puzzles & that's what I think of looking at all the little pieces in this piece ... love it!
