My first 15

For my first 15 minute playtime, I took this block I made in a class years ago that was practically 15 minutes away from being tossed out.  Oh yeah, I have a lot of em in different color combinations, but I don't like em!  As I remember, the idea of the class was to pair one large print with a 4-patch using the same fabric.

I made two random slashes through the block then cut two strips to piece in there.  For some crazy reason, I didn't think to take pictures after I sewed each seam.  Anyway, here's the final result after about 15 minutes:

I flipped the piece on the right vertically before I sewed it on.  I'm just noticing it put all the reddish parts at the top.  hmmm... when I write home I won't mention it ("nothing to write home about")!

Looks like a tree in the fall with all the red at the top. Great first 15 Linda!

Trees, leaves, or just make a bunch of them slashed and twist them side by side.... The more you play with them the more ideas will come... Great start!!
