Who knew you could get so much from scraps!

I am trying to organize my fabrics. I pulled out a bin of scraps (I have 5 more bins ) and I started cutting.  I used my Accuquilt Go cutter and cut out about 150 tumbling blocks, then some 2  1/2 squares and some small half square bits, then I got out my rotary cutter and cut out some 6 inch,
5 inch, 4 inch and 2 inch blocks.

I took the scraps from all this cutting and used every piece that was at least 1 inch square and  'made' a piece of fabric that is about 26"x20".  I don't know how I will use my 'made' fabric but I plan to add to it once I tackle another bin of scraps.

I worked on this about 15 - 20 minutes at a time over about 5 days.

I bet you find your made fabric more fun to use than the cut shapes!

I just got a Go! Cutter this week and plan to do the same thing with my scraps. I can't wait to see how you put them all together!

What a great idea and so fast too. Make sure we get to see what you end up doing with it.

BeeBee that's wonderful! I don't have a GO cutter but I've started cutting my large scraps into strips and rectangles. Somehow I just know I'll get a lot of leftover scraps for made fabric!

it was something I needed to do. It feels good to be somewhat organized. I am also organizing my fabric. Check out my blog and let me know what you think. I am using comic board backer boards to help me. I love the way it looks on the shelf.

I'm using my made fabric to make postcards to use as get well cards and birthday cards. They are very appreciated and a lot of fun to make.

I love the fifteen minute motivation. I have always found it interesting just how much one can get done in just fifteen minutes. When I was a professional house cleaner and organizer that is the rule I shared to help folks realize what they could do themselves. Then I demonstrated it. The response was "shock" and admiration of what I could do. I laughed and said thank you - anyone can do it.

Thanks for the reminder to play even if for just fifteen minutes at a time.

The results are amazing and fun.
