This is the result of my latest adventure in 15 min of play. The border on the bottom with change as the purple is way too intense. How did I get here?

Just testing your vision. Forgot the turn upright, sorry. After the strips were made I decided on this for the between strips. I liked the idea of two colored strips. The green strip ended up on the top and will be on the bottom.

Putting the strips on my design wall and deciding what when where.

This is what started it all. It really took about 15 minutes + 15 minutes to make the strips. I cut by eye the solid and print fabrics and sewed them together. Turned and sewed again. Out came a checkerboard. To me just cutting and sewing is so much fun.
These are really simple to make and the strips can be sewn into squares too. If there is enough interest I will make a tutorial.
