15 MINUTES TO PLAY TODAY....
I was looking at my Grandmother's work today and thinking about how she laid pieces on top of sheets and would sew a few down as she went along. Building a quilt as she went along SLOWLY. bit by bit... I was admiring her stitches,
What If I played on my new Bernina and tried out some satin stitches...
Just for 15minutes to get acquainted with the machine...
15 minutes to practice will get you over your fears of trying something new.
And now I have a new Giftie for myself! I think I will hang on to it to remind me to play...
Miss B is very happy now! ;))
The back is almost as cool as the front. How are you liking your new Bernina? It is quite different from the Juki, but they each have their charms. Love the pillow.
I love it. Uh oh I see a satin stitched made fabric quilt as you go king size in the making.
congrats on having 15 mins to play this time of the year!!! simply love your fabric picks and your technique of craziness quilting. didn't know about your bernina, how lovely!!! :>)
And I must say perhaps there will be a pillow in my future. Wink.
That pillow just sparkles! Great idea. Might have to try this little number myself.
Just love that pillow. The work you produce in your 15 minutes play is amazing. Fabric mix is great, I like the plain with the patterned.
Pillow love! and it gives me an idea of a great quick christmas present too!
I am always thinking if reasons not to satin stitch but maybe after 15 minutes I would not be so intimidated : ). I have my swap mini quilt and can't add my pic here,so I will email a pic to you later. I would love to join this blog next time there is an opening!
Yummy pillow! Hard to believe YOU need a reminder to play! It seems to happen automatically for you. But you certainly can keep the pillow because it is PRETTY!
It's amazing what a little play time will get you...it looks great.
The blues are so pretty! I've wanted to try doing that type of thing - i think i will try it after the holidays. i also like the idea of the quilting as you go! The dimensions are wonderful.
I love that close up of your grandmother's stitching. You are so lucky to have that heritage to inspire you. Your pillow is great. I've never been a big fan of satin stitches because mine look sort of like thread sausages. What kind of thread are you using?
Thank you for sharing your grandmothers work and the inspiration it inspired in you. Lovely!
Haha! I recognize that cat head fabric!!!!
