I finally found one piece that I figured would be close enough - but had quite a time, trying to figure WHAT to put with it. I read earlier comments and saw the oooh's and ahhh's of the avocado lovers and what ya'll might pair it with...and I looked at my fabric again - still didn't 'feel it'. I found some sunflowers that I really liked and threw in some purple - it didn't move me, but I couldn't find anything I liked better. Decided I would use this:
Kinda blah, don't you think? I've already decided to make all my blocks play together so planned to bring back some of my other fabrics when I started to build. Sat down at the sewing machine and just before my pedal hit the medal - I Spied some scrappies (leftovers from a customers quilt
- which proves NOT always cleaning up after a project can be useful). I put together this little play group and brought back the scrolly yellow from last week:
Yes, the avocado was definitely getting lost in the mix (but shhh, don't tell, maybe no one will notice) - and now for the finished block - ta-da......
I must admit ~ I really like the way it turned out - it might even turn into my favorite block (and big improvement from last week - I didn't need my 'hammer'). But if it's ok with ya'll, from now on - I'll just enjoy my avocado with salsa & chips :) Thanks Ms.V for another fun color!

I really like the browns and golds with the avocado. The black and white goes perfectly. I really like this block.
Oh! I like that one alot!
Your leftovers are terrific with your avocado! Wish I had some of that golden scroll lying around....
This combination of fabrics works beautifully.
This is my favorite of your trio!
Pops out of the galaxy very nicely!!
Love this one. That black makes a very cool background.
