This is the mountain of fabric I tried before I finally made my decisions about what fabrics to use.  I had so many fabrics that could be avocado, and thus so many comlementary fabrics.  I am generally indecisive, and with fabrics, I am even more so.  It helps so much to see what others have done - I am so appreciative of everyone who posts early in the week!!

I am still trying to keep my center the focus color and find a complementay color to go around it.  At this point, my final pieces are all different sizes, as they are just growing from the center out.  Perhaps I will get to the point where I can make uniform size blocks...

So, this is this week's effort.   I didn't keep the center solid as I did before, but I hope the center still says avocado and the overall effect is avocado first.

Your choices are wonderful! I really like the way this block came together. The center of the block does read as avocado around a beautiful flower. I really like the dark green gems scattered here and there. The really add to the dynamics of this piece. Can't wait to see what you do next week.
