These yellows were so much fun to play with - originally, I was SURE that I was going to play with yellows and purples. But when I started doing that, the fabrics said - no thanks! So, I just added a little orange, a little pink, and a little lime green - everything is better with lime green! I call this my lemon meringue pie block.
Orange is - next to lime - becoming my go-to color...maybe not as a whole scheme, but it sure does add a nice zing to most anything. I had used up most of my oranges, so I had to shop for some of these! I call this one Aunt Phyllis's Orange Jello - you know, with the mandarin oranges in it. Yum!
First of all, why did they change blogger?
Ok, didn't have to buy any of these vintage beauties. But I have to say, this was the toughest challenge so far. First of all, because I'm not really a fan of blue! Second, I'm definitely not a fan of any of these fabrics.
I thought I would try a blue-green-yellow scheme, but ...no. Boring. Never dreamed I would use red with dusty blue - not a huge red fan either, although it is growing on me! Of course there is a little green in there. All this blue makes me nostalgic for all those lakes in Minnesota.
All of my blocks - so proud, finally finished a color before the next one is announced!
this is looking good. I was skeptic when I saw this challenge and thought nope I don't have any of that color in my stash. The more I am seeing of this challenge, the more I want to participate. Now where is that tub of fabric I havent seen in a while? come cut come out wherever you are. LOL cant wait to see the quilts from these blocks
Chris, your blocks have such a nice blend. I actually LOVE your dusty blue block! it's so subtle and punchy with that bit of red and touches of yellow! (I'll be a the MN cabin on the lake, Thursday. So i'm feeling MN too!)

So your fabrics have their own ideas too. I like the yellow one and the orange one and they all make an interesting design close together like that.

Great blocks! The colors you added to the blue really brought the it into the 21st century. :)
Gosh, these all look great together! Good enough to eat...and I am so wishing I had a slice of Aunt Gen's lemon meringue pie right now.
All of your blocks look great together - and adding lime green gives them a kick!!
These are looking so good together! Love how that X design gives added depth.
