Orange is one of those colors that elicit a response from my taste buds
so it's no wonder I had a hankering for a big glass of OJ when I discovered this week's color.
My garden also had some orange wildflowers to highlight
how well the orange shows up so nicely against the green of a Hosta.
(Western Wallflower - family Brassicaceae (Mustard)
Without looking at my stash, I immediately knew what I'd select for my focus fabric...
a batik with varying shades of orange and some cute little bubbles.
Except for the solid orange all my fabrics were batiks this week.
I decided to play with curves and joined more fabric,
cut them into interesting shapes and offset them somewhat.
I like how the brown and green made the orange "pop".
This is my brightest block of the six so far and I had more fun playing.
Still working on doing it in 15 Minutes tho :)) It's the process that's important
and I'm feeling a bit more adventurous each week.

I like this best of your orange blocks. It seems bright and cheerful - lighter in feeling. Do you know the name of that orange wildflower? I planted some mixed seeds and have the same flower.
Please remember "15 minutes" is Just to make a 6" block, not a whole large quilt block! it's only about taking a few minutes to sew some scraps together... not need to RUSH... just be slow and enjoy the process...
Taking me a bit longer for the 6" blocks cuz my sewing machine is across the room from my ironing surface. Lotsa ups and downs. I'm getting there, leaning a lot and enjoying the process.
You're doing great Mars - love that block! Now off to get me some o.j.! :)
Great Block!!!!
Is that a wall flower? That photo is great inspiration! I love your bright batik block. the curvy parts are cool.
Your block reminds me of orange juice too! So bright and cheery!
