I thought that since I like bright yellow as a color, this would be an easy challenge.  Wrong, wrong.  I started trying sherbert yellow's and pink's with my brighest yellow and they wonderfully mellowed it too much since I am trying to focus on the challenge color in the middle and have supporting colors around it.  Then I tried the bright yellow's with a dark blue and lime green, but the lime ended up being too light.  Finally, on  to aqua and black, and this is as good as I am going to get this week I think.  I like the contrast and think there is enough movement.

I love the aqua and black with the sunflowers. These were great choices to go with the yellow. I love sunflowers, and these colors just make them sing.

I really like the blue/black combo with your bright sunflowers, dots, honey comb and bananas! Great fabrics!

Your colour challenge blocks are very distinctive, they have so much going on in them. I like this one very much.

I love the sunflowers and the way the colours utilised add movement to the fabric. Love the dots too.

Margaret asked whaat I made with the bananas. I made a fruit salad quilt with lots of bright fruits with a little lettuce; the binding and the backing were all lettuce!

Lovely, Willa!! I'm in love with your blocks, and can't wait to see what you create with them! The bananas are a great conversational addition. Nice bright, happy fabrics.
