I broke my arm several months ago so I am just getting started with the color challenge. My late start gave me lots of time to follow others progress and get ideas.

Color collection, missing orange |
I wanted something that would highlight the chosen color - a monochromatic look. I like 1/2 square triangles but could not come up with a background fabric in the stash that would give enough contrast to all the colors.
So this is where I am so far. I decided to make fabric from the color of the week, then use one of the other colors as a contrast.

First try -Pinwheels |
My first try was a pin wheel. Make strip triangles and then highlight them with one of the other colors - BORING!!!!

Looking forward to adding orange strips to the mauve block.

Very exciting!!! Great job! Loved seeing the evolution!
I don't think your pinwheels are boring but I really LOVE the blocks with strips!!!
Wow! Those are really different!
Great that you forged ahead - the results are stunning!
Can't wait for more colors. So far they have been the. "warn" colors. When do the " cool " ones show up?
You are great a catching up. The blocks are really detailed and have great depth. I especially like the yellow.
Nice looking blocks!Glad your arm has healed up.
I like them! They appear to have dimension, which is neat.
These look great! keep on going with the flow!
VERY pretty, Irene! Like the monochromatic look with the sharp contrast strips. Congrats on getting back to your sewing.
