Victoria asked us whether we thought rust is an orange or a brown. It depends. In my earlier "peach" challenge block I used lots of rust that was more orange. In this one I added darker browns accented by cobalt blue and a bit of purple. A photo of a blue tanker rotting in the harbor was the inspiration. Love rust and the way it sets off clear colors. Will definitely be more conscious of making sure there is lots in my stash.

Once again you've made an amazing block. You are right about the cobalt and other clear colors. They work very well with the muddier rust. So great.
The blue (and purple) is such a gorgeous contrast to the rust. Beautiful!
LOVE the color palette in this block! all that red/orange! Fabulous!
