July New Bee Block

Hi Everyone,

Well here I am with the final block for the New Bee Swap.

First you need to make 2 square of fabric at least 10" square.  One will need to made of Neutral fabrics, whites, tans and off whites.  The second square can be of any color you choose.

Trim each square to 9 1/2" square.

At this point you need to stack the 2 squares on top of each other, RIGHT SIDES UP.
It is very important to do this.

Once you have the squares stacked cut them into 9 pieces.  You can do this on an angle.  Don't make the angle too sharp.

Now lay out the pieces to form a 9 patch.  You will have 2 blocks.  A positive and a negative.

Sew the pieces together in rows.  The pieces won't fit together perfectly.  That is the joy of the block.  You don't have to be precise.  After you have pieced the rows you can sew the rows together to form the block.

This is what the blocks will look like finished.  DO NOT TRIM the blocks.  I will do that when  I recieve them.

Remember you don't have to match any seams.

I hope you like my block and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Hugs, Cathy
