Color Challenge Top

I finished the large top today, and thought I'd share it, along with the last few blocks. I'd been in Colorado all summer; we got back October 1.  First, I needed to complete the last two colors:
Large kelly green block

Small kelly green block

Large lime green block

small lime green block
I decided to tackle the large blocks first, and laid them out in what I thought was a balanced layout:

I thought about adding just a white border, but I wanted something with a bit more "pizzazz."  Remember when we first started doing 15 minutes of play?  We "made fabric," and I made a lot of it. Some of it got used in a challenge on another blog, but there was still a bit left in my drawer. I also had some orphan blocks that needed to get used in some way, so I combined them with the made fabric.  I cut it all into 3.5" strips for an inner border, and then added a white border.

Here's my finished top:

I'm thinking that for the binding I'll use one of those new stripes that are diagonal (made so you don't have to cut diagonally).  What do you think?

HI Cyndi--I was just scrolling through Google REader an had to stop! What a beautiful quilt you've made. It is absolutely amazing. Yes, I think the diagonal binding would be cool! YOu've obviously got talent and an eye for design--I look forward to seeing the final quilt!

The small stars will be a separate quilt. Thanks for the love, everyone!

I haven't seen the diagonal fabric, yet, but it makes sense for a binding.

This is such an interesting quilt to look at. At first one might say, Oh, Stars and click past it, but a closer look at the centers and borders makes my heart sing!
