A start...of sorts

Started working on my tea-towel project this week.  3 days in and already I'm making major changes!

First I wanted to use this Scottie dog tea towel that was given to me years ago by a good friend.

Then I pulled out the bag (ok, one of the bags) of scraps and sorted out blues, greens, yellows, and some pinks.

Somewhere between the scrap piles and the sewing machine a whole 'nother rainbow of scraps forced their way into the economy blocks. (found orange scraps to be particularly aggressive.)   Now I'm not so sure I'll use these for the tea-towel but I do like them with this ink on fabric piece that has been patiently waiting in my closet for the past two years....

So I'm boxing these up for later and moving towards a more gold and gray palette with some plaids...back to playing in the scrap piles....

Scotties are too cute!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's quilting plans take major detours! Happy ones of course.
