Claire's progress

As I sat waiting for the bus I had this "great" idea; however, when I got it on paper, it was no longer great. It was way too busy for the current drive I have to experiment with minimalism. I had included buildings and trees, so first I took away trees. The bottom was empty, so tongue in cheek I inserted the trash can (which had not been part of my original concept--in fact I hadn't "seen" it till I downloaded the photo. So six sketches later I had my idea.
Before I could make fabric, I had to sort my "crumbs." That took a day, and stitching the three shades of green together took another. I flattened out the perspective to 2D for the buildings (the orange comes from across the street from the photo), but kept perspective in the three shades of green and size of circles.
I inserted the circles, and ended up with this:   ( Claire)

Isn't it funny how you can miss things in scenes, and catch them later in a photo? I like the balance your green (emerald?) circle gives and will love to see more....

I applaud you for seeing the essential in your photo. The made fabrics are lovely.
