La Laguna Veneta!

Vista-Burano e I Suoi Colori is quilted (although not bound, I must confess!)
I really had fun making this and it is my first time machine quilting!
I figured that since the piecing it was very liberated and very free form, therefore the quilting should be the same.

I added the made fabric water to represent
la Laguna Veneta or the Venetian Lagoon which surrounds the tiny island.
I also wanted to add the reflections of the colors in the water so I came up with an idea using steam a seam, pinking shears and a large zigzag stitch!   I think it gives the idea of movement!

Delightful! Pinking shears for the reflections was brilliant.
