ready for 2015?

Wow, what a busy few weeks it's been!!

I was in Seattle, California, and then Florida! These few pics are from the Orlando Florida classes, and boy did we have fun!

And amazing weather, no doubt!

But now I am home... the tree is up, and I'm gearing up for first a trip to London just after xmas, then Wisconsin for a Two Day Double Wedding Ring Class ( come learn my tricks!!)
then Baltimore, then TOKYO, then QuiltBeach, in Florida!

Two more fun things happen in January....
One.
My new Book will arrive for shipping!! (preorder only website)  I rcvd my advance copy today!!!!! YAY!!!!
I am so pleased with this book, I hope you will be too.

and TWO:
It's time for a new challenge!!!

It's the NEW YEAR!!!!
Time to make your NEW Yearly WORD!

What will it be this year?

Last year my word was SHARE...

This year...
it's

If everything I do comes from a place of JOY, then I will feel joy everywhere...
I realized making this DWR series that each quilt is made with pure JOY.

All happy memories included in the quilts,
and they all make me smile, and bring me JOY.

and
Every quilt I share/give/donate... gives Joy to the recipient.
Is there anything better?

Will you play along?

Comment below now into January, on your new year word.

Then show me your quilts with your word incorporated!

My word for 2015 is "kaizen" -- the Japanese term for making little, incremental improvements in small things that add up to big shifts over time. I think this will be a good way to go through every day mindfully, with a focus on doing each thing just a tiny bit better.

Since last year was "Pieces", I am thinking of trying another quilt word. What about "Binding"? Binding to
whom, to what am I bound? Binding also means finishing and I have many tops to be Bound. Happy Holidays to All

Breathe--is my word--sometimes in all the hustle and bustle life can be overwhelming.

My word for 2015 is Wabi-sabi, a Japanese word which can have a number of different interpretations but usually described as the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. For this challenge I will not focus on the incomplete!!
Wabi-sabi has long fascinated me and I hope to be able to include more when I post my finished piece in January.

"Comfort" is my word for the new year. Its origin comes from to strengthen, but it has come to mean much more.

Nearly missed seeing this-was just checking back on old posts. Will have to give some thought to a word this year - last year was Smile. Might keep with the same theme and pick Enjoy.

I have been thinking about this for about a week and I still come up with the same word "peace", so that will be my word. I even looked it up in the dictionary. I will try to incorporate that word in every quilt I make this year.

It looks like I was the last to comment on this post. I just had to share one more thing. I was in the checkout at Walmart and the clerk was having a lot of trouble processing my purchases for gift cards. I apologized to the lady behind me several times for taking so long and she politely gave me several scriptures for PEACE! That is my word! I just thought that was very special and had to share it.

My word is going to be SAVOR. So often I'm quilting with a time limit or a deadline, and I feel like I'm quilting to finish. I want to make sure I remember and acknowledge the joy in the process, not just in getting it done.

I've never picked a word of the year, but I think it's time. I think my word will be TRUST. I'll start making my word this weekend.
