Awhile back my orphan bin was overflowing. I started pulling bright happy blocks and throwing them up on the design wall. Arranging them to fit and filling in the wholes with scraps this is the result.
I know that Victoria calls her quilts like this everything but the kitchen sink but I like to call my Plan B. Each block was intended for another purpose that just didn't work out. The label on my original Plan B quilt read. "Made from blocks intended for other quilts. Test blocks because sometimes it's a good idea to make sure everything fits before you commit. Orphan blocks, because some blocks are so fun you get carried away. Mistakes, not failures, but lessons learned. Healing blocks made by friends. And scraps because when life falls to pieces remember there is always plan B. And life is all about how you handle plan B."

Nice story!
Great way to look at life.... and a beautiful, happy, scrappy quilt!
Lovely! Charming quilt and a great Plan B attitude.
You inspire me to relook at deserted efforts!!! Beautiful!!

Love everything about this! So sweet and homey!
I love your plan B quilts. This one is so bright and cheery. You should write a book called Plan B!
Lovely, and quite amazing how well they go together! It's hard to believe they weren't made to be in the same quilt. If I made a quilt from what I call the "parts department" from Gwen Marston's description of the parts left over from other projects, it would be a lot more scrappy looking. Or, maybe I should say, when I make my quilt from the overflowing parts department - which also includes parts and blocks discarded by other fellow quilters at retreats (and rescued by me) and parts and blocks given to me by friends who know I have a parts department.
Beautiful colors!
gorgeous quilt !!
Can't decide which I like better--the quilt or the description! Nice job!
