Kandinsky impressions
All that is left to do is the binding. I mulled over whether or not to hand quilt this piece, then decided on machine. My hand quilting is not really very good. I wanted to play with line and form for the quilting. I did the lines first, then the groups of circles. It still felt unfinished, so I selected three small sections to do small stippling. I am thinking a red binding would work well, but I will sleep on it and see if I still like the idea.
This has been a very interesting challenge. I have gained a new appreciation for solids watching all the wonderful creations appear here. My husband is very sad I am sending this one off. I may have to find another painting to interpret for him so he is not so sad.

love this and how sweet it is that your husband likes this piece so much.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I think the idea of stippling in sections is the key to quilting I've been looking for!
haha! my hubby too that is why I am now making a matisse quilt! LOL! Looks great Miki! Love the circles in the quilting, you definitely captured the Kandinsky feel!
Very arty, Miki and a little bit different with the quilting.
What a great piece, Miki ... I love what you've done! (You were so much more successful with your Kandinsky than I was with mine.)
