I just moved, but I set up an ad hoc sewing area so I could get to sewing right away! I'm trying to catch up on my blocks of the month, and still have quite a few more to make. Here's my most recent additions:
Hybrid Tea Rose
My BOM's to date
I am very excited to finally have space for a design wall in my new home. Do you have any recommendations for an easy and inexpensive way to set one up? Thanks gals!
Love your blocks! and regarding a design wall, I love love love mine (did I say I love it?). We just took two sheets of styrofoam-type insulation board from the hardware store, and simply nailed them to the wall. I then covered them with gray felt (gray is more neutral than white or black, learned this from a K.Fassett book), stuck on with spray adhesive. I have used it for maybe 15 years now. I also read of another technique by Melody over at fibermania, see her Aug.4 post. Her boards are hanging, and covered with batting. Many paths to a similar end! Good luck!
I haveking size warm and natural covering an entire wall... Tacked it straight to the wall... It's been like that got three years... Easy fast and works the best for me... Love all your blocks!!!!
Love your blocks! I just have an old flannel sheet that had belonged to my grandmother tacked up on the wall. Works for me!
I like the fussy black and white backgrounds. They seem to give the blocks an extra oomph and they look good together.
My design wall is two dollar store, flannel backed plastic tablecloths tacked to the wall. For $2.00 plus a couple thumbtacks, I've had a design wall for the 7+ years I've lived in my current house. It works great!
