Yesterday my daughter asked me to finish the blocks I made three YEARS ago... I told Her I had no idea where they were! I had embroidered a block for each state, or country that we in my family are from, and one for where we all live together... Well, let me correct that... I designed and embroidered TWO of them, then swapped Siobhan some word blocks if she'd finish my MN and NY blocks... Fair?
;-)
Well today, as I was trying to clean my studio. I say trying lightly.... I accidentally found them! I confess I have lost and found these blocks more then three times in my quilt-y life... and figured, since I had FOUND them I better DO something with them ASAP.
Miraculously, I also found a bunch of made fabric blocks also made ages ago,and had just the right amount, and JUST THE RIGHT size!
(Should I go play the lottery? The stars seem to be in alignment on this project)
So now it's a top, and I will finish my cleaning...(don't hold me to it)
and I will Think about it for a t least 15 minutes what will come next....
In fact, I may come up with a few options, show you, and then decide...
Remember to take your 15 minutes concept through your entire quilt. One baby step at a time... decide as the options present themselves to you... Don't do what you ALWAYS do... listen to all the options and try something NEW today!
Like take 15 minutes to try a Y seam....
Want a tutorial on Y seams?
small manageable minutes to try something new...
What can you try NEW today for 15 minutes...
Make 2012 the year of trying something new!

Yes please for the Y seams tutorial Victoria...you must have read my mind! Just what I was thinking that I would like to have a try at!!
I love it! Sometimes blocks tell us when they want to become quilts...these must have been whispering to your daughter!
I've had "lost" blocks, too. Once I asked a friend to help me find mine and she found them immediately! I had put them into a bag she had given me and she was curious as to what was in there. Nothing like a pair of fresh, curious eyes! ;-o. Love the setting for your family heritage quilt.

I am ready for the Y seam tutorial. I just took a fresh look at my Lautrec block, and that is what it needs.
Absolutely would love a Y tutorial - and love that little quilt, too!
Yes please. I thought I knew how to do them but as you'll see on your New Bee Block, I'm not very good at it.
