Mary Ann's Challenge

Hello my Playmates. I'm so excited to finally post here in the playground again, even if it's not 'my' work. Everyone...please say HI to my friend Mary Ann! She was so excited to be included in Victoria's rose fabric challenge and has asked me to share her progress here with you. (meanwhile...I'm still 'contemplating' what I will do with my rose fabric from Ms.V - which of course we know is 'code' for 'I haven't a clue'...but I'm thinking....). So here we go...Mary Ann writes:

There is really no advantage to having to get up at 4:30 in the morning so that you can be at work at 6am unless someone posts a challenge that you like. Then you can be the second person to frantically wave your hand and say pick me please! I loved the idea of roses- I have over 20 different rose bushes in my garden but I digress.  I received my fabric and first thought of using the mono print fabric I made in a class with Sue Dennis. Though I liked the idea, I didn’t think I had enough contrast.
I found my next idea looking at the pile of scraps left over from making my dragon quilt background. I had lots of pieces.  I felt they went well with the rose fabric.

Finally had to pick out what to do. I had narrowed it down to 2 projects: a tote bag or a padded iPad cover. Since I could not decide, I asked my husband to decide and he went with the iPad cover. Nice, because it is a smaller project and I could get it done quickly. Well, I didn’t know I would have to contend with being sick, a sick coworker, and totally forgetting about the Holidays, so I am still working on it. Maybe more to share soon.
