15 Minutes of PLAY BOOK TOUR!!

One of the first questions I often get, is: " Do I have a favorite quilt in the book?"  I think many know that I am obsessed with my process, and frankly, sometimes I am OVER the quilt by the time I know what it will look like...But still, I do have a favorite or two, precisely because of the journey the quilt took me on. I think the three quilts above, and this Crown of thrown quilt below ring high on my list of favs.
The Star Splitter, because it started the journey of making this book.
Flower's in Elda's Garden, because it is directly related to my grandmother's process and WHY and how I learned to quilt.
and the Makin' me crazy quilt, as it  blends when I do, and what my grandmother did.

Although this quilt, above, is my instant gratification to having a Grandmother's flower garden quilt FINISHED! Unlike the one in my closet that is 9 years old and unfinished! LOL! Looking at antique quilts, finding a new way to put your mark on them... PLAY! Inspiration is always there!

My goal for the book is to show you how my process and my inspiration is born; how to find your creative flow, keep it and let it SOAR! Giving you confidence to try new things, look at your fabrics in a different light, and build quilts that are unique to you!  Also, to provide you with OODLES of inspiration and eye candy to get your JOURNEY ready to create!  Building your TOOL BOX of techniques to make you a better quilter, each and every time you set about making a new quilt.

TRY SOMETHING NEW! I dare you!

So, would you like to win a copy of my book?

US winners receive a hard copy of the book
International winners receive a Electronic copy of the book, direct from C&T.

You may comment on each of the blogs until Dec 12th, 6 pm.
Make sure we can reach you by email! Be aware of your No reply comments...

Just tell me your favorite color and why!

I love "poison green". Not really sure why, except it is a funky color! I have been making bow tie blocks with it, and plan to eventually make a jubilee quilt with poison green as my background. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of your book. I love your use of wild fabrics and color combinations!

My favorite color is purple! AND I never met a shade of purple that didn't have a useful purpose!!! Why? you ask. It seems that no matter the other colors in a scheme, my eye always gravitate to any purple therein. Purple is royal, playful, perfect blender, modern and just feels good....heeheehee!

By the by, your quilts are really inspiring and I must say it your grandmother's flower garden just opened up all types of possibilities in my mine and yes, perhaps a finished quilt. (shhhh! think I've a couple unfinished ones lurking in a closet somewhere!)

My current favorite color to quilt with is a spicy orange. This is a huge change for me, as i used to detest orange. I'm not sure when I made the leap, and I'm hoping it is not solely because of orange's huge popularity, but it won me over and now I see its potential next to any other color.

LOL, I forgot to tell you my favorite color... I guess it would be green - just because! And, I do love using yellow as a 'neutral.' But, the real truth is that I don't have a favorite... I just love color!

I love blue right now, seems like I am suddenly drawn to all shades!

Purple has always been my favorite color...I think it combines a sense of calm and passion in one color. I like it for all seasons. love the quilts featured in your book! Congratulations.

Blue is my favorite color because it makes me feel calm and peaceful

I love yellow. I feel cheerful and happy when things are in yellow. Yellow provides artificial sunshine, and we do not have as much of the real stuff as I would like in Cleveland, OH.

I love red, because it is so vibrant and energetic. Your book looks like a lot of fun.

I've tried to play this 15 minute game, but some how my blocks don't really look the same or right to me. Maybe I need that huge design wall, mine is only small.
My favorite color is RED - probably because my grandma had a pair of red shoes once that I was just ga-ga over.... I think it goes with everything and every holiday!! Just ask me - LOL!

Red is my all time fav color. What is not to love? It comes in so many glorious shades and tones and can be soft or strong, and always makes you fell loved and protected. Just like a Mom or a soft, cozy quilt on a cold winter day. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of your book. I can hardly wait to take the challenge? Jackie

My favorite color has been red ever since I was a little girl (and that has been, um, a few years ago now!)

I remember writing a poem about the color red when I was eight years old. I don't remember the entire poem, but here are the first two lines:

Red is a color so crisp and clear.
Red is the color of a cold, cold, ear.

I LOVE RED!!! :-)

If you look at my clothes, purple seems to be my favorite color, but lately in my quilts yellow has been a favorite because it brightens everything up!
I just made a quilt with crazy star centers that looks like it could have come out of your book. I would love to see more, as it seems "great minds think alike"!

Beautiful quilts! Sounds like an amazing book. I love bright yellow because it makes me happy, kinda like the sun on a great spring day. It's not a color I can wesr, only look at, hehe.

Thank you for an awesome giveaway and a chance to win.

I have quilted off and on for years and have done very traditional quilt blocks. I have just recently become interested in modern quilts and trying new things. This book would help me learn new skills something that is always important to be doing

Favorite single color - blue of all intensities. Oddly enough, I rarely use blues in my quilting. I like the scrappy look with a wide variety of colors in my quilts.

My granddaughter Ivy and I quilt together - her favorite is purple - I lean more towards warm colors - I've generally got yellow. orange and/or red in most of my pieced tops, it adds a bit of heat, and boy people love it too.

Right now, my favorite color is royal blue and green. Mostly because I took my son to the zoo and we saw peacocks. I was astounded by the mixing of the blue and green on the peacock (as well as the pattern.
